R|Short Program: K’gari Field Trip FAQs

The fee for this program is $1500 (including GST).

It is expected that there is a breadth of experience amongst the participants and some experience is required to get the most out of this program. If you are curious whether your skill level meets the requirements of the program contact us at hello@therefinerysunshinecoast.com

Participants will be staying at the UniSC K'gari Research Station (formerly known as K’gari Research and Learning Centre, Dilli Village). Cabin accommodation is shared with one other program participant in a bunk room with two beds. SCCA will work with participants to allocate rooms. More information about the facility can be found here.

Due to limited space at the K'gari Research Station this program is not suitable for partners and/or children to attend.

All meals during the program will be provided and will be vegetarian. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks however it is the responsibility of individual visitors to remove their own rubbish from the island.

Participants will meet at Rainbow Beach Surf Lifesaving Club on Tuesday 16 July, 8:30am to catch a ferry to K’gari. Participants are responsible for their own travel to Rainbow Beach. SCCA will do their best to arrange car pooling if necessary.

This program is covered by UniSC's public liability insurance. The participant takes part in the event at their own risk. Participants can arrange personal insurance (including accident, travel and property) at their own discretion.

Successful applicants will receive an information package with full details of what is required.

The program is limited to 10 participants.

This is an intensive workshop on K’gari and participants are required to attend the full program.
